Sustainable Design

We have an established approach to bringing existing buildings up to higher environmental standards – often involving finding new uses for them and enabling public participation – and we are also eager to tackle more new-build green projects as a means to implement our specialist knowledge of sustainable architecture principles.

Feasibility Study: Valley Garden Organic Farm

A new autonomous accommodation block on a horticulture site in Copley, featuring passive and active solar technologies, super-insulation and heavy thermal mass, high efficiency boiler and biomass fuel grown on site, comprehensive waste management and the re-use of materials for construction.

Feasibility Study: New Sports Hall at Northowram J & I School

This project optimises natural light, integrates passive ventilation and heat recovery systems and active solar technologies and which would be subject to an environmental impact audit of all construction materials.
